The turn based game is coming along great. 90% of the core engine is done, so that includes all the attacking, healing, leveling, trading, item using, statistics and whatnot. It was a pain in the ass to do some of the parts but it's been worth it.
The next few days I'll be ironing out any minature glitches there are in it and working on those final 10%. I'm constantly adding to the game idea in general so that 10% might quickly increase into something more. Afterwards I'll move my attention on to making more skills for the different classes and upping the computer AI. Afterwards it's only a matter of creating all the levels and arranging it all into one nice storyline.
Well that's enough talk on my part. Here's a screeny.
Done alot of the core engine (85%) now, very close to just getting on with making skills, levels and story. The core engine is the largest part of this whole project, and having it so close to completion is a really big motivation boost for me to push myself in the creation of this game.
So here's a screeny of a lightning mage attacking an enemy unit. The background is completely remade and serves as the first level background.
There comes a time when everything is upgraded, but sometimes it's not always for the best.
Just think about the diff improvements companies have been making in the world.
N64- > Wii
Playstation -> PS3
Gameboy Color -> DS
Xbox -> 360
Windows XP -> Vista
1st iPhone -> new iPhone
8 gig iPod -> Shuffle
It's nice to know we are getting somewhere, but are we always headed in the right direction? Let's hope so.
I've been revamping both code and graphics for my turn based game and hopefully, I'm gettin somewhere too.
:Updated to a higher quality pic.

Well if you hadn't already seen, I had improperly saved my game file some X days ago and had to restart the coding for the game. Well I've caught up on about 70% of the coding, I've made it work faster and cleaner and watnot.
Well since I had made the coding better and the performance better I started to want the overall look to be better too so I started revamping the graphix as well as practicing drawing. Well here's a picture I drew that I may/may not use. I actually recorded the hour of drawing I did for this picture, but I don't have any software to speed up the video, nor to compress it, and so can't show it off =(.
I'll also post some of the new level art in the next post.

Something like this always happens to all flash authors, well, now it's my turn. My turn based game I've been working on was saved yesterday and when opened today was saved IMPROPERLY! I dunno how, but unfortuneatly, all the code was shifted around in 100 different places, so I'll be pretty offset in the production. After bawling my eyes out for a few hours and trying to fix it I came to the conclusion I couldn't. Thankfully, none of the graphix were deleted and thankfully, I still have some important codes in old flash documents.
Sadly, I'll be rewriting most of the 4000 lines of code I had, but thankfully now that I have the full clear vision of the game in my head plus the menus and art and stuff still alive, it won't take too long to bring the code to its former glory, possibly even making the game better + more lag free + funner. :O.
Well yea, sorry to dissapoint, but it'll still be a few months before the game goes into BETA.
In other happier news, the Cardboard City Collab is out. I'm glad I could've helped out in the way that I could, I submitted a preloader game you can enjoy while waiting for the mammoth of a collab to load. Go check it out if you haven't already!
Well guys, that's all for this week's news.
Keep being cool!

Why? (you may ask) Well, I'll tell you =)
A lot of the battle engine has been refurbished and I added new things to make the game more interesting and more tactics like =) This includes an energy bar for all characters and a multitude of skills you can buy, equip and enhance using attribute points.
Added onto this, I've made a few more character designs, some dialogs and progressed very far from my last update.
This game will probably take another 1 - 1 1/2 months before BETA, but that's just a random estimate. So for now I'm gonna leave you with a screeny of the skill & attribute menu so you guys can see the more interesting gameplay that is being built up in the game. And if you are wondering, no there is not title yet, but there is a storyline =)
If you didn't see my last news post, as it wasn't on front page, I've been tirelessly working on a turn-based strategy game. Those big NG TANK banners are ENORMOUS motivation for myself, and I believe many other flash artists / game developers to create amazing stuff for the coming year.
Well this is the project I'm putting my heart and soul into. And what do you know..it's not even a rhythm game. XD
Preview pic below. 3 levels already complete. Battle engine 80% done.
Comments appreciated.
Started on an engine a month+ back and have been working on it relentlessly. I have my eyes set on next year's tank awards, so hopefully that'll be some kind of example of how much work I am putting into it. It'll be turn-based strategy and will include a cool storyline =)
So here is a quick screeny of a normal character's moveset.
I'll show more updates every week or so. I'm quite a bit ahead of this picture, so this is just to get things started.
Hey NG! Long time no see.
I'm WAS looking for a talented animator, and after 30 or so tryouts later, found a really great one to do the graphix in my next game. This is not to say that the other animators weren't as good. It was actually quite tough picking out someone out of so many great candidates. Anyone who tried out I appreciate it =)

On another note, I haven't submitted anything in the past month or so and submitted MiniDrumPro a few days ago. It has gotten some great reviews and you should totally check it out!
Thanks to everyone who has supported it, as well as all the beta testers who dug deep to find glitches!
Unfortuneatly browser lag doesnt allow it to run at its intended 60 fps so you may experience some sync probs =( No more 60 fps from me from now on ;D

Well that's all for now. Enjoy the sunny weather dudes!

Apparently I am now the king of the portal. All must fear my wrath!!! No but seriously, enormous thank you's to everyone =D Dream come true :P

Beginning of March already, and still a flurry of snow outside. Ugh when will it end and tennis season begin?! Damn snow. >=(
Anyways, some updates. Cooliobeat 2 and Music in Motion were both taken very well on NG, both frontpaged winning a daily 2nd and daily 1st respectively. Both are also nominations for February's best game of the month, so if you enjoyed either one of them, I'd be appreciative of those squishing them into their top 10 list when voting.
Lately I've grown to have quite a few ideas, and am currently working on multiple flash things, one being an animation even :O. But not like that'll be out anytime soon. Some games are also in production but I don't know which one will be out next.
Combat Online has been delayed BUT ITS NOT MY FAULT. Xceed is "BUSY" with college applications, and we are so close to finishing it too it's making me mad. If you are angreh with this, leave an angry comment on his page. I have no idea how long he'll be "busy". (meaning weeks/months even) GET ANGREH
Last of all, I just noticed the people who put me under fave artists surpassed 700 a few days ago, and as always, I'd like to give my biggest thanks to all the fans who have supported me through the years. It means alot. I know that for some of you, my games are a fun little hobby but for others they actually have a large impact on your lives and I'm happy they've done that.
Urg. This news post turned into a damn essay. I'll make it shorter next time. Promise :P
