RhythmBlaster Update

Posted by Coolio-Niato - July 21st, 2007

Redid the whole base engine from scratch and added elements of code that I alrdy had from the old engine. RhythmBlaster is well on its way.

Two enemies done for now, normal squares which spawn to the music and fall straight down as well as snakes that pulse to the sounds. Shooting, collision detection and lag issues alrdy resolved (damn browser lag >=D ). Syncing still ahead cornandbeans' music and also some other audio tracks.

"Future" and GridWars are my main inspiration. This game is sure to set a new name for Rhythm games on Newgrounds and in the online gaming community. Not anything like DDR nor is it your standard Avoider either, RhythmBlaster has never been done. You'll just have to wait and see if Shooter Games can really mix with Rhythm Games.

Comments, Ideas, Song suggestions <<< All greatly appreciated.

I was looking at the screenshot, and I noticed something. Where you influenced by a game called "Geometry Wars?"

It's just the fact of the basic shapes and all that. I'm still looking forward to it. I'll be sure to check it out.

This blog-thing is useful. I used to have to wait and see when you made a game. But now I can just check here for details and stuff.

Never played Geometry Wars in my life XD.

Is it true you like men... like... inside you?

Yes. Yes I do. XD

I never heard of Geometry Wars until I got Nintendo Power this last week. But the basic shapes reminded me of the designs of that game.

This is one of the best rhythm games to come :D. Believe me, I know :P. It's mad schmexy :D!

By the way, these shapes that he made were influenced by me :D (sorta). I showed him the game Grid Wars 2, which I think Geometry Wars is based on (or this game was like a PC version of Geometry Wars). But either way, yes, these shapes are like Geometry Wars :D.
